Role Description: This is a full-time or part-time, on-site Nurse Practitioner role based in Albany, NY. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to patients with allergy and asthma conditions, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include managing acute and chronic conditions, administering and monitoring allergy testing and immunotherapy, prescribing medications, and providing patient and family education on disease management and prevention. The role also involves collaborating closely with board-certified allergists, nurses, and other team members to coordinate care, ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record, and support practice protocols and quality initiatives. Participation in patient follow-up, care plan adjustments, and occasional cross-coverage within the practice may be expected.
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of New York and national board certification (e.g., FNP, ANP, PNP or equivalent); graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Clinical experience in allergy, immunology, pulmonology, primary care, or related specialty, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
- Strong patient care and communication skills, including the ability to educate individuals and families on allergy and asthma management, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Proficiency with electronic health records, documentation, and basic clinical workflows in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and manage a steady patient caseload in a busy practice environment.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and maintaining required certifications such as BLS (and ACLS or PALS if applicable).
- Willingness to work on-site in Albany, NY, and travel as needed to nearby practice locations within the group.
Prior experience in allergy and asthma care, immunotherapy administration, or pulmonary function testing is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
