Company Profile
Company Overview
Kendal at Oberlin is a life plan community located 35 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio and planted on 100+ acres serving about 325 residents, operating since 1993. It is a hub of activity for older adults throughout the community of Oberlin. Residents have moved here from 36 states and the District of Columbia. Kendal strives to serve the greater community as well with fitness center classes open to community members, the Kendal Early Learning Center, and supportive programs like Ohio Living providing services to our independent residents. So the vision of our early founders to create a “world class retirement community in Oberlin” certainly seems to have been fulfilled. Kendal at Oberlin’s Mission Statement: Founded as a nonprofit organization based on Quaker values, we are a vibrant, diverse, inclusive, caring community focused on healthy aging. We support individual lifestyles by promoting independence, continuous learning, engagement in and service to the wider community, social and intergenerational relationships and excellent health care. Kendal at Oberlin has its own independent Board of Directors with The Kendal Corporation of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania as a supporting partner. This relationship offers flexibility to meet the needs of our local community, as well as providing all the benefits of a multi-unit operation. This has proved to be a highly successful partnership, with Kendal quickly becoming an accredited life plan community with CARF/CCAC.
